Like
so many in our country, we will forever remember all those
who have given so much in responding to the tragic events
in NY & Wash DC. We applaud the courage of them all...

an interesting note ... |

Yahoo
did a great job of collecting all the various photos from
around the world. I came across this particular photo on
Yahoo...
Caption reads "Air Force Staff
Sgt. Andrea Neal, left, noncommissioned officer in charge
of Landstuhl Regional Medical Center's (LRMC) Oncology Clinic
in Landstuhl, southern Germany, comforts an unidentified
German student through the fence of the Army hospital gate
on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001..."
The LRMC was where I held my very first job, the summer
I was 16! What a small world... (My father was stationed
in Germany at the time).

This
is my best friend Dave in NY, who once lived 1 block away
from the WTC, the window view from his room being the WTC.
He is the founder of ClubPlanet.com.
Dave provided WeddingeXpress.com with his technical expertise
when we first got started. He also hosted our site for the
first 2 years and put up with all my web questions then
and still does! :)

is Dave back in school days... now a typical New Yorker -
smart, innovative and strong. No doubt NY will rise better
and stronger! |

I received this note today from someone who is very special.
He offered me my first job in the Corporate world after graduating
from college, and to this day, he's the best person I have
ever worked for. I want to share his thoughts with you.
Keep the Spirit Strong
The recent tragedies in NY, DC, and PA have scarred us
permanently. What is a scar? A scar is the mark of a healed
injury, but only tougher. We must remain strong and bounce
back. We must give our support and prayers to the victims
and their family and friends. We must support the actions
this world must take to rid the world of evil. We must continue
to count our blessings and cherish them.
The tragic events caused an emotional explosion in all of
us. We felt shock, fear, sadness, helplessness, frustration,
and anger all at once. As tragic as the attacks were, a wonderful
thing happened. It is sad that a tragedy has to be the trigger,
but none-the-less, a great wave of unity befell the world.
Countries have shared sorrow and support and people have broken
down the barriers to common good and unity.
Closer to home, this wave of unity and kindness is all about
us. Flags are flying everywhere! On the streets, drivers are
more courteous and patient. On the sidewalks, people greet
each other and smile. At work, people have set aside and hopefully
forgotten about their petty differences. People are lining
up to give support, either through giving blood, money, material,
and/or time. People are contacting their old friends to say
hello. People are strengthening family bonds. People have
stopped complaining and instead, evaluating the non-importance
of the little things in the grand scheme of life, which is
so fragile.
Sad that a tragedy evoked these new attitudes, but none-the-less,
very welcome indeed. It is my hope that we, the creatures
of habit that we are, do not lose this spirit of unity and
brother-hood. It is my hope that I do not personally lose
this spirit and lose contact with my old friends again, or
fail to keep in touch with my family as often as I want to.
It is my hope that we maintain this spirit without another
tragedy to invoke it.
My new life to-dos, and hopefully your's too:
1. Give and show my love more than I have, to my wife, family,
and friends.
2. Make a list of all the old friends I'd like to say hello
to from childhood friends to recent work friendships and spend
time seeking them out as a new hobby.
3. Turn negative emotions into a "it just doesn't matter"
or "it's not worth it" attitude.
4. Increase the number of "hellos," "thank yous" and hugs
I give in a day.
5. Help upset people see the brighter side of things.
6. Continue to do what I love.
7. Quite thinking about things I should do and do them.
8. Help educate people it is not a race or ethnic profile
that we are at war with, but a select evil group.
God Bless America and Every Good Person in the World.
